Thomson Reuters Bursary

The Thomson Reuters Bursary is generously sponsored by Thomson Reuters and administered by the BIALL Awards & Bursaries Committee (ABC). The award is made by ABC following applications received for bursaries to attend the BIALL Annual Conference. The amount awarded is £750 and can be administered as one full bursary or two half bursaries.

Criteria for award of this bursary

  • Applicants must be full personal members of BIALL 
  • Recipients of bursaries last year may not apply this year
  • First consideration will be given to applicants:
    • who have been law librarians for less than five years
    • who have not attended a BIALL conference before
    • who would not otherwise be able to attend due to lack of funding from their employer
  • Applicants must be based in the UK or Ireland
  • Bursaries do not include assistance towards travel expenses.


Conditions of acceptance

Recipients of bursaries will be required to write a report for the July meeting of Council.

Recipients may be asked to provide a short (150 words) description of their conference experience for inclusion in one of Thomson Reuters publications or online services.
