Speaker: Jonathan Brewer

Jonathan Brewer leads the Practitioner Solutions Group at LexisNexis, driving the development of new online solutions to meet the needs of practising lawyers and tax professionals.  His group works hand in hand with customers to identify the key workflows on which their products and services are founded, drawing on the skills and resources in the Publishing Operations, Global Solutions Development, Sales and Marketing teams to build and deliver those compelling solutions to market.   Jonathan was a lawyer in the City before leaving practice to gain his MBA from Tanaka Business School, Imperial College London.

Outline:

Jonathan will be speaking about the appearance of new technologies which are now available to the public such as "epoq" and "nelsons online".   These sites allow individuals to draft and create their own legal documents such as wills and divorces without the assistance of a law firm.

These technologies will greatly affect the business and hence the profits of small firms, as this is essentially ‘Tesco law'.

He will explain the idea of ‘Legal Intelligence' and how publishers can work in partnership with law firms to keep them competitive in such a changing environment.
