Overseas Associations

The American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) has over 5,000 members and represents law librarians and related professionals who are affiliated with a wide range of institutions: law firms; law schools; corporate legal departments; courts; and local, state and federal government agencies.

The Australian Law Librarians' Association (ALLA) is a national association with over 700 members in all states and territories. ALLA represents librarians and information professionals working in courts, universities, government departments, law firms and professional associations.

The Canadian Association of Law Libraries (CALL) has approximately 500 members representing a wide variety of law library interests across Canada. It provides a forum for the exchange of information and ideas among members, fosters cooperation among Canadian law libraries, and plays an active role in promoting access to legal information for all Canadians.

The International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) is a worldwide, cooperative non-profit organization of librarians, libraries, and other persons and institutions concerned with the acquisition, dissemination and use of legal information from sources other than their own jurisdictions. The IALL has over 600 members in more than 50 countries on five continents. The members represent all types and sizes of legal collections ranging from academic law libraries to corporate libraries, and from national and parliamentary libraries to administrative agency and court libraries.

Juriconnexion is the French association for information professionals

The New Zealand Law Librarians' Association (NZLLA) is the professional organisation for those working with legal information in New Zealand. 

Organisation of South African Law Libraries (OSALL) aims to link and support everyone interested in Law Librarianship in South Africa.

The Special Libraries Association (SLA) is an international organisation for information professionals working in corporate, academic and governmental bodies.  The SLA have an online Career Center advertising current positions and offering guidance and advice.  There is also a division focused purely on the Legal Sector. SLA members can access a wide range of CPD resources online via the Click University portal.
