The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) is the leading UK professional body for librarians, information specialists and knowledge managers. CILIP forms a community of around 36,000 people engaged in library and information work, of whom approximately 21,000 are CILIP members. CILIP also offers professional training and a recruitment service.
Aslib is a corporate information management organisation whose members are private and public sector companies, organisations and government departments. Aslib organise a variety of training sessions and also has a recruitment section
The Special Libraries Association (SLA) has a European chapter, who run regular seminars and networking opportunities. See overseas associations for further information on SLA globally.
There are other Affiliate Groups associated with BIALL that are regionally based.
