Assistant Librarian - Lincoln’s Inn Library

We are looking for an Assistant Librarian with at least one year’s post-qualification experience to join our team running this busy law library, serving barristers and bar students. 

The job is interesting and varied involving a great deal of enquiry work, together with some cataloguing, database management, and acquisitions work. Some experience in legal information work is highly desirable, but applicants with relevant experience from other backgrounds will be considered.  Experience of using a Library Management System is also highly desirable.

As well as having worked for at least a year since library school, applicants should have strong reader services and reference work skills, a high level of IT literacy, and be able to offer a friendly and confident face to users.  Availability for evening duty until 8 pm once a week and for occasional Saturday working is required.

The salary in the above range will be according to qualifications and experience. 

The successful candidate will join the Inn at a very exciting time.  Construction work has just begun on a building project, which includes a major extension to the existing library space and the provision of an additional reading room.
